My journey in the fitness world wasn’t simple, and I didn’t always think that there was room for me in it. My relationship with exercise was heavily tangled with my relationship with food, and it was far from healthy. Fitness was a punishment for food, food was a reward for exercise. It was after a lot of work and unlearning that I embraced exercise for all the benefits that it brings, and finally learned to feel in control of my movement, listening to what my body wants, needs, and enjoys. I’ve never trained more consistently, been happier in myself, or felt stronger than after I detached it from guilt, and stopped thinking in terms of whether I had been ‘good’ or ‘bad’ on my behaviours on a certain day, week, or month.
My passion for fitness and for Personal Training is closely linked to these experiences. In a world that is obsessed with calorie counting, I believe that is a counterproductive approach that does a lot more damage than it does good. I’d like to help you enjoy your time exercising, building a routine, and achieving your goals, without the guilt.
As Health At Every Size, anti-diet personal trainer, I stand by the principles of intuitive eating, and I believe exercising is best when you’re doing it for yourself, to feel in your body, rather than to punish it.
I specialise in strength training, including free weights, and body weight training.
